It seems tracing is a phenomenon that'll never be avoidable.

Try overlaying the images on top of the other in Photoshop or Paint.net and change the layer type to Multiply or overlay and see how exact everything matches up. That's how the Tumblr users do it. I'm not going to go that far, but I'm sure someone else will. Even if the art's not traced, it's heavi...
