Due to a recent Tumblr-related incident where a person has taken my artworks and edited them to be horribly suggestive and explicit (clearly, a childish troll)... I've been considering watermarking my artworks. I don't like DeviantArt's watermark, so I want to make my own. I just don't know how to make one that is rather large and resizeable so that I can just use it for copy/paste purposes instead of making a new one each time I want to watermark an image of mine. I have Gimp 2.6 and I know how to work the layers and transparency. My question is where should I put the watermark (which will just be text)?

I'd say wherever you find it okay;
When I decide to watermark something, I find that part of the image that has most details on it, or close to the face; that way if anyone decides to try and remove it, the picture will be ruined :D
