I'm here to complain!!
...about a BOOK! Well... not exactly complain, but...
About two weeks ago I got my first payment and since it has been forever, I just went in the first bookstore I could see, looked at the new books and picked up the first thing that grabbed my attention. Which happened to be "My sister's keeper" by Jodi Picoult. Now, if anyone of you guys knows the book, you'll probably think "That's not new, it's been published in 2003!" Yeah, well... not in Bulgaria it didn't!
Here's a short synopsis:
Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate - a life and a role that she has never questioned… until now.
The story was sad to begin with... but the ENDING just blew me away.
I was there - at work - sobbing like a baby! It took me lots calm myself down before some poor guest comes by and gets freaked out badly that the person on front desk is crying for no apparent reason.
I knew the ending won't be good, but I just can't even express the way I feel about it now.
I feel tempted to give the ending away, but then again, in case someone wants to read the book or watch the movie, I don't want to ruin it for them ;u;
Now excuse me while I go dl the movie, watch it and hate ont he ending some more...
I love this book, btw.
