What does this Pixiv thing say?

Post by Julia »

So, on a whim I searched Pixiv for "e-shuushuu" and this came up as the result: http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php? ... d=20992009
It seems to be a general warning for Pixiv artists that these are some websites that repost images from Pixiv, but I'm curious what exactly it says, since I'm not exactly fluent in Japanese. I can tell the title is "Attention Please" and the last sentence says "I urge you to be careful of these demons" which seems a little hyperbolic. We just like to share art, we're not evil or anything. >_<

There are those of you who may already be aware, but for those who do not, please take the time to read through this.

Pictures posted to Pixiv are being reposted, without permission, to foreign sites. I believe those of you who have Googled your user page (your user page uses the format [http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=oo], using everything after the 'http://') already know, but most users' posts can be found directly linked to by sites that have reposted their illustrations.

Those of you who post illustrations may confirm for themselves below.

*This is simply a warning.

I assume you got the bit about "demons" from 「あくまで注意を促すものです。」, but it's not using 'akuma de' (of devils), but 'akumade' (to the end).

Anyway, I'm not exactly fluent in Japanese, either, but that's the gist of it.

Oh, so we're not demons. That's nice to know. :D (I guess if they meant "demon/devil" they would have written it 悪魔)

The fact that we're linking to their Pixiv should comfort them; that means they're being credited for their work. But the reposting itself is the problem, it seems.

Of course, Shuushuu handles a policy that if the artist does not like to be reposted, they can ask for that in either PM or via other means. And personally I won't give a damn if they ask it via Google Translate.

Personally, Id be happy if someone was uploading my art on an image board /and/ giving me credit for my work. (Of course I suck at drawing so I leave that to Tornado and my cousin Amber!)
