Hello everyone! I’m here for a little announcement, and I hope you hear me out. I’m just here to reinforce a common procedure we’ve been acting out lately, and to avoid further mistakes and/or conflicts:
It is asked of our users to please consider the quality of the image you’re uploading. Not only in terms of impurities, such as artifacts, but also in terms of *art style*. Images that have a dubious art style, bordering what’s considered “anime” style, might fall under moderator review; also debatable “good” art styles will be judged the same way. As a few staff members have put recently, if the style is too crude, lacks style, is the work in progress of an artist, or is simply not considered “pretty” or elaborated in some way, it might be disabled.
We are aware that what is considered “good” is subjective and may be debatable in itself, but you’re going to have to trust us on that judgment, since that is one of the reasons we have our red titles. Review doesn’t mean it’s automatically going to be disabled; it’s decided by a majority, and if the majority agrees the image is good to go, then it’ll be back up.
But you don’t have to solely rely on us; we ask you to please consider what you post. Look at it once, twice, thrice before uploading, just as you should have been doing for every image all this time. If you’re not sure, put it up for review yourself, or PM a moderator and s/he will tell you what they think. If you think an image might be of dubious quality, you can report said image and we might place it on review. We shall try to be fair to every image, and we hope you understand it if by chance your image is disabled. Keep up looking for good images, there are many out there waiting for you to upload them. :)
This is not a bash on any artist, please do not take it that way. This is just an aim the site has had for quite some time: good quality images for everyone. Let’s all keep the community going!
On that note, images from all artists are now allowed, and yes, that means you can post your own art to the site! However, be aware that it’s going to fall under the same guidelines I’ve just told you about – good images shall stay, but if it needs some work, please take the disablement as a good criticism to keep trying, because you’re sure to get better.
