A lot of the other sites I visit have a link/button at the top of each thread that lets you jump to the first unread post in that thread for you. That would really help IMHO on reading longer threads where you don't know where you stopped.

So to spicen things up this year, I bought a pumpkin to set outside the house in attempt to lure more then the average 1-2 people.
