Theme Tag Suggestions (2)

Post by anonymous_object »

I'm starting a new tag suggestion thread since the first one is already filled with old tag discussions and is way too long to read.

How to suggest a tag:
If you think a tag should be added, you can post it in this thread. We ask that you do a quick search of the thread first to see if it has been suggested in the past.
Please provide at least 2 sample images to which the new theme tag would be applied and tell us why you think it should be added. Once brought to the attention of the community, we will discuss the suggested tag (mods, taggers, and normal users) and determine if it should be added.

Things to keep in mind:
Theme tags are generally concrete nouns. These are things you can touch, see, smell, feel, etc. More abstract ideas can also be acceptable but are not as common.

Tags that have been suggested in the past and rejected:
-Eye color tags. Way too much work for taggers.
-yuri, loli, pantsu. These themes are not the focus of this board.

I'd like to bring up my old suggestion about a "goggles" tag. I believe there are enough images with the tag, especially with Gumi from Vocaloid, Oshino Shinobu from Bakemonogatari and the underwater images throughout Shuushuu.

Two sample images~?

Some users use the megane tag for goggles and I don't think it should work that way.

That's what Hakuryu is getting at. Goggles are -not- megane. They have different functions. Megane/glasses are to see, whereas goggles are to keep stuff (air, sawdust, etc) out of your eyes. There's a somewhat subtle difference between the two in appearance as well.

Merged your topic. Also take note of the first post to see how to suggest tags. I will reserve my opinion until then.

I don't have any qualms against "goggles".

I want to suggest an "earmuffs" tag because they're cute, they're notable, and they do have a nice base of images to put them on.
"Headphones" doesn't work for them, but I feel like we should probably tag them in some manner.

Examples:

"carry" tag - for those images with people being carried
"scared" tag - for those images with frightened characters. (though... would that clash with "nervous" looking pictures? I don't think it would, but that's just my thoughts on it, lol)
"sigh" tag - for those images with the character making a -_- face, or with those sigh mushroom bubble things.
"phone", "cell" or "cellphone" tag - child tags of "telephone"?
"kareoke" (or is it "karaoke"? Doesn't look right... ><) tag - for those images of a group of people in kareoke bars. Like the following:
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/59197/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/203678/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/192881/
"singing" - for those images with "solo" people singing
"bird" tag - for those images with birds in them

That's all the suggestions I have, for now at least. Hope some get considered! :3

I don't see those as really necessary.

"singing" as a general tag might be nice since we have "dancing".
And I don't really approve anything else, myself.

The music tag has more or less covered singing

As for carry, the name itself imply carrying everything... so no.

Also you should provide examples for all the emotion.

I only approves of bird.

I've got some suggestions I've been thinking about for a while:
-----------------------------------------------------
Mecha
Oh yeah, I went there. ^_^U Author appeal notwithstanding, I think it might be an useful tag, since the amount of mechanical devices that could use that tag is actually considerable; and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that would like to have a quick reference for those.
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/186677/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/155964/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/153768/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/153533/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/92621/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/33379/

And besides "conventional" giant robots, it would also be helpful to tag robots that don't fit into the "android" category, because that one implies autonomous machines with almost human form. Some examples would be:
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/195885/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/190100/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/181772/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/181756/

Sandals
For open-type footwear. It would be helpful to classify those not-quite-barefooted pictures that come pretty close to the mark, but technically aren't... with Karma's rant to boost. ^_^U It's wide-spread enough to not be obscure, but specific enough to not be redundant. (which is a major objection against the "socks" tag, for example)
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/197574/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/185060/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/158755/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/116779/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/86305/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/44079/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/9880/

Of course, it would be convenient for it to cover high-heeled shoes (and other specific instances I should be missing) as long as they fit into the open-type aspect:
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/184758/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/189225
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/187652

Boots
Another with availability but also concrete enough for it to be useful. Not a lot to say about it, but certainly would be helpful:
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/204893/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/203260/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/202251/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/160927/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/156555/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/39179/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/33154/

...It would also help to tag a good deal of pictures featuring Miku and her misleading thigh-high boots. (and Luka too, by the way)
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/206207/
http://e-shuushuu.net/image/206045/

Surprise (needs a better name... "Shock" might work)
For expressions compelling astonishment, incredulity and / or shock; mostly for situations where the characters react with an explicit "What the fudge?!"-look on their faces. Notably, it's one of the emotions still missing on the vein of happiness, sadness and anger.
