e-shuushuu forums

I would like to see a link to the Artist's Pixiv/Deviantart/Sheezyart/ect account on the "Tag" page (ie: The page you are sent to when you click on their name on an image). It would make it a lot easier then having to search through the Wiki.

For example, finding the Pixiv account via the Wiki for "Kanaoto Neiro", you have several steps before you reach the pixiv account:

And this is one of the easier artists. Some don't have wiki pages but are instead just listed in a mass list of Pixiv artists. It's a little messy. n_n;

Since I'm not that much of a contributor, I'm not going to say much on the case, but I do understand what you're suggesting. Crossed my mind in the past, but I, personally, didn't mind following the steps you listed.

A lot of artists now do have their Pixiv account in the tag page. That's how I've been adding all of my Pixiv only artists lately. And we've started a new system to streamline Wiki navigation for artists with actual websites, so that should get better soon-ish.
I just have to fix everything first.

No, I meant the fact that you have to click on one link to click on another to click on another to finally get to the link that you want. Not that the Wiki is messy. Once you GET to the wiki page, it's nice. It's the getting there that's messy.

This kind of thing is like hotlinking ... I do not approve of this idea. Yes, we're still hotlinking in the Wiki and in the artists Shuu tag... but that's different from direct hotlinking >_>

What? This isn't hotlinking. It's the same URL we use on the wiki.
It's an image's page, not a link to the image.

I don't think you understood me, but whatever...

It'd be hotlinking if we were linking directly to the artist's images, the .jpg or .png, etc files. Linking to the artist's profiles is different. It's basically like linking to a "site" the artists have set up for themselves. It's a gallery profile. Why do you say it's hotlinking?

I'm not really sure if you and I are thinking of the same thing...
hotlinking is when you link to the image specifically, like danbooru does.
But this is just posting the profile link...just..."linking" in general?

Old topic is old, but I think Tensa was referring to the Japanese concept of where you are supposed to ask someone before you link to their page. Unless it is specified as "link free" which most artist sites I see are.
