Vector Images
As I said on the image board already, this is a very impressive wallpaper. The hours of work you put in and progress you made are apparent in the really terrific result! An excellent wallpaper also because it doesn't scream vector, but it has such line art, good coloring with shadow and gradients in the coloring that it looks more complex than a simple vector.
Thumbs solwyvern, I'd say keep it up!

well I sat down . .and rushed through it again . .LOL

I made some bad line connects at some points . .it gets a lil sharp or gets a bit funky going around a curve and I just didn't bother correcting it -_-;;; then when it came to shading I really couldn't see where exactly it all was so I just guessed and briskly blew over it . .LOL. gah oh well

Nice job, Lady Sakura! Getting better. Hey, I noticed the original pic you vectored from looked like a vector(and maybe because of the size). Did you vector a vector? XD! →not meant in a bad way of course...
Anyway, read this thread for more links to Vector tutorials.

Actually, I had a hard time coloring too when I started, but someone just told me to go for it, and I did. Turned out nicely. Try coloring under the trace layer, meaning make a new blank layer under the trace/outline layer and start coloring from there.
Obviously, start with the shadows, just the same way you made the outlines.
-trace it w/ pen, (just follow the outlines when it touches)
-right-click, fill path with the shadow color.
-Then merge, and start doing the rest of the colors in the same manner.
Paint Bucket tool comes in handy, when your done w/ the shadows. just color under any unfilled parts w/ brush afterwards
It seems Ferricorp site is down,(and I learned everything from them. T_T)Zachris wrote:Is there any place where I can find a good guide on coloring a vectored image? >< i started vectoring but I fail at the coloring T_T

Nice choice to vector LadySakura. <3 Honey! I am really enjoying the anime as well. ^_^
Although, I could be biased because he screams of Momiji from Fruits Basket. He even has a bunny. LOL That is fine by me though. *snuggles Momiji*

I thought so too. I was too lazy to look it up though so didn't say anything. haha His relationship with the tough one is cute though. (I am awful with names...and also too lazy to look it up again. LOL)
But *ahem*
Have you considered doing a wallpaper size version of the vector?
(Look look! On topic-ness! ^ )

*Resized because of imageshack
*Black Version vector was discontinued.
These are the stuff I used to make this:
*This is my first time using textures, text, and a stock photo for a background.
*I honestly spent more time thinking and finding materials for the wall then I did making it.
*It took quite some time, aside from losing 3 hours worth of work due to a power outage, I also spent too much time thinking of the composition
