The drawing topic!
Re: The drawing topic!
I... I haven't drawn in a while. I mean, AT ALL. I've been way to busy with high school, but I have a crapload of sketches. I'd rather just show you guys the completed versions though.
@Lilflow: I love your drawings <3 Isn't SAI beautiful? X3
@Merun-nii: oAo That's so pretty! You're definitely improving bunches! X3
@Trinity: I'm jealous of your lineart/clothing skills. Really. XD

@Yuki: It's all about learning the pen tool. It seriously makes drawing like... the simplest thing ever.

@lilflow @yuna yeah I'm doing all that I can to improve, so I have a lot of personal reflection; see on my tumblr. I wonder how long I can continue before real life get all my time or some other hobby.
While I have known how to use the pen tool and other vector tools for quite a long time, I have quickly stopped using them because you can't control much the width of the line. It doesn't apply to Illustrator or SAI, but I prefer the result of inking with the normal pen.

@Merun: It really shows in your work. They're looking more and more lovely every time I look ^-^
Another speed painting (though this one took me longer than the last).
I'm so much happier with this one. It actually looks right for once lol.

Uwaaai~ I am in awe of everyone's coloring skillage *o*
I love drawing, and I, like Yuki-sama, have a crapload of sketches. :3 But I'm not very good at coloring...not at all XD...and need to get better acquainted with the pen tool!!! I have an OLD dinosaur version of Photoshop, and then I also have Elements, in which you can't do a whole lot of nice coloring stuff.
So I shall work on it! And improve! And report back later! *nods purposefully*

I'll owe everything to you.
How much pain has cracked your soul?
How much love will make you whole?

Re: The drawing topic!
Old Photoshop is fine; some artist use version as old as version 4.0. I would recommend though using version 7.0 at least which got the new brush engine ( also happen that it was the version I started with ). I think that in Elements there are all the required tools for coloring as in Photoshop, but I can't be sure as I use SAI ( pen, marker, airbrush, watercolor )
Otherwise, sometimes, artist will livestream, or record their drawing. Here is a recording of Kishida Mel: http://www.comic-hiroba.jp/movie/08.html ( mad skill ) Might give some people some inspiration.

Oh, Riken-chan, that is really nice~ ^^
just one thing to point out though, so you'd pay attention to it in the future~
The girl on theeeeee~ right, the one with the purple hair (still haven't watched the anime, so iunno who is who) the hand with the finger to her cheek simply can't be like that~ try to put yours like that, you'll see the fingers will be in the opposite direction (;

hehe, dw, i passed the same road~ And even now I still often have problems with drawing hands;
What I usually do is look at my own, when I'm not sure how it'll look ^^'

I actually used the 2.0 version before learning SAI. u_u'Merun wrote:Old Photoshop is fine; some artist use version as old as version 4.0. Darn, I can't see all you people's drawings from my job's computer. Commenting will have to wait. I'm too busy with university too to draw anything right now. At least I've had the chance to make a sketch of the first few pages of Myu-chan's story. :3 I can't wait to continue doing them.
Hey, Haruko-chan, why don't you share your rough drawings with us ? They don't need to be digitalized after all... ^^
