I wanted to step a bit out of my comfort zone and try "softer shading" so I redrew this Ruki doodle into something much more finished.

I gotta admit this kind of shading is fun. It takes a lot longer though....especially since my computer likes to turn itself off all the flipping time UGH!

This weekend was Aniventure - the biggest anime/manga/cosplay event in our country and as I do almost every year, I participated in the art contest.
The theme was "My favourite anime character" and I had zero reference, so I had to run and bother people with internet and then doodle the details on a piece of paper so I don't mess up too bad (I think the only thing I forgot are her bracelets...)
So here is my 2nd place winner in the 16+ category


photo is a bit tilted and the coloring is messy, but it was pretty much the best I could do in the contest's time frame
(also due to color fixes to make the photo less yellow, some of the shading was lost orz)

It's a wolf-fox creature, an old sketch, and something I'm doing for art school. Do I have to resize these because they're really big and I'm still new to posting in the forums. (°A°)

I've been replaying Tales of Symphonia and it made me want to draw my favorite character from the Tales games.

I wish ToS had attachments like the newer games do cuz I wanna give Colette the dog ears/tail. ♥
