A very Headache-Inducing Pic

Post by Karis »

I found this pic, which is a collection of characters from several anime(and some non-anime) and manga placing their hands on their heads from exasperation after a frustrating moments of events, which is really amusing, I couldn't even start where the characters come from sans the easy ones.

Gwendal von Walde - Kyou Kara Maou
Jun Sakurada - Rozen Maiden
The main character of Tales of Eternia
Zelgadiss from Slayers
Mahiro Mutou from Busou Renkin

Yukiko from Touka Gettan
Hikari from Pokémon

Third from bottom, second from right:
Nicholas D. Wolfwood from Trigun

Orange haired girl in the middle:

I think I see a character from the Yoake anime left from Kyon (in the middle). I'm not sure and I can't remember his name, but the waiter uniform he's wearing looks really familiar.

Should be Walde since the other characters have also very germanish sounding names like von Spitzberg or Bielefeld.

Wald means forrest (Walde is just a grammatical form of Wald, don't make me explain it :P). His earth element fits to a forrest I guess.

Makes perfect sense. ^^ Since we're on the subject, would Günter be von Christ or Kleist. I always thought it was Christ but then I saw Kleist being used and was like "wth?"

I assume it's Christ. Maybe cause he looks like a sage? (religion)
There is the german word "Kleister" which is some kind of glue but I doubt that that's his name.

Wolfram is btw the name of the little wire in light bulbs. I almost laughed loud out when our janitor told me that. That's probably why Wolfy has such a short temper, he overheats light a light bulb. o_O
His later name "Bielefeld" is the name of a german town (and I'm such a crazy fan of Wolfy that I plan to visit this town some day just because of it's name XD).

Anything else? Hm... Weller I'm not sure about. There is only the word "Welle" that sounds similar but that means "wave" and I don't see that fitting at all.

Oh and Spitzberg consists of the words "spitz" (pointy) and "Berg" (mountain).

I also keep wondering about the name "Gwendel". I assume it might be more something swiss. Since Switzerland is also a part of KKMs story I assume that many words come from there.

No problem. I actually love to dig up name origins of anime and game characters. (and not only for german sounding names ^^)
