I don't know if we're exactly allowed to hold contests since I cant really find any forum dos and don'ts. But I Was thinking with Halloween only being a month away I could hold some sort of contest for best (homemade of course) cosplay outfit. Just a friendly contest where everyone can show off how hard they worked. And since I have some extra money I could give top 3 places money through pay pal. (1st, 30, 2nd, 20, 3rd, 10?)

Of course all of this is barring on whether or not we're allowed to do this.
But feedback is a start!

Don't see a reason not to be allowed to do it, but I don't know if you'll be able to drum up the participation. Good luck. :)

This sounds really fun! I personally love cosplaying, but this year I'm on a budget.
Regardless, I hope other people will join! I love seeing other people's works.

I think if the contest was broader, it might get more contestants. A Halloween contest in general doesn't sound that bad!
Then again, if you want to stick to the theme of anime (since this is an ANIME image board) it would be more appropriate.

I do suggest maybe make homemade optional?
Like I said, the less specific, I think there where be more contestants.

Well thanks for all of the feedback! But a general costume contest would bring a lot more people into it. As long as we all face the facts that if you're going up against cosplay being Michael Myers just won't cut it. (get it? )

Out of curiousity but will you be entering any cosplay/costume yourself (@cjdidonatofma. My apologies ;; I never caught your name). I know you probably won't be able to enter however, you seem very interested in it so I was wondering if you will be submitting anything just for fun?

I'd love to enter! I don't even know what I'm going to wear for Halloween actually, but I made a cosplay not too long ago and have a aspiring photographer friend who agreed to take pictures. I'll probably be done with making a behemoth plush-type-thing to complement the costume by then too, so it's going to be sweet~ Just have 1 question: When's the deadline?

We don't celebrate halloween here (even if it's getting more popular each year for some reason), but if I find someone doing cosplay I'll post pictures just to give the thread some movement

Well, you're right I obviously can't enter the contest myself but of course I'm going to show you guys my hard work. I usually go to multiple halloween parties and wear a different outfit to each.

That'd be great Deoxys. I always see little kids going as Ash and and in Pikachu outfits.

But everyone else is open to submit.
