Guns, breasts, and explosions. The point of a good movie is to have a good time. I am going to see this movie. This is epic. FFVII: AC was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, but it had guns, breasts, and explosions, and I enjoyed it immensely. "Oh man, Bulma's hair isn't pink! Goku is pasty! Muten Roshi isn't bald! I'm gonna hate this" doesn't cut it. Dragonball was fun times with, dare I say it, "wacky" characters. That is what this movie seems to be about. It will not be "Dragonball" as it should be, but we watched the badly translated version of a bad anime adaption. If the film captures the half the spirit of the original, it will be a wonderful movie. If you want "Dragonball," go read the manga in Japanese.

Dragonball Evolution...No way in hell will I ever watch that. Dare I say it...Hollywood ruins everything. Anything that was made before that is. Now I gotta find something to help me forget I ever saw that fail of a movie lol.

If they wanted to make a stereotypical action movie, they should've done so. If they wanted to make a Dragonball movie, they should've done that. But they tried to do both. NOTHING from the trailer captures anything resembling the spirit of the series. WTF does an eclipse have -anything- to do with Dragonball? If it's Dragonball (NOT DBZ), where's his tail? Will he transform into a giant monkey at the sight of the moon? Where the heck is Krillin? And so forth.

I repeat: as an action/martial arts movie, it might not be so bad. Trite, but not awful. However, the disgusting act of attaching a few token names and vague appearances and plastering the Dragonball name to it reeks of using the license as a vehicle to push a standard film that no one would've paid attention to up to greater heights (read: box office returns). It's Hollywood at its absolute worst.

Seriously, I am SO going to watch this and laugh uncontrollably.

I'll see it in theaters and I know a bunch of other people that will too. It's a modernized take on the story and they're going with a unique direction. It's not a direct homage of the original series so keep that in mind. I'll honestly say that while some parts of the trailer looked excessive cheesy, some looked pretty cool as well. It'll be a coin toss IMO.
