I don't know if you guys believe in ghosts or not, but here's an interesting story for you x_x

Ever since me and my co-tenants came to live to this apartment, we always had the feeling there is something here.
Not to mention doors and cabinets would constantly open by themselves.
Of course, we always had the ghost thing as a joke. I mean, the place and furniture are a bit old, those things tend to open by themselves.
Anyways, we decided to name our ghost "Tobi" like the poltergeist...thing from "Paranormal Activity"

About a month or more ago a friend of mine came to live with us until June. My landlady doesn't know about him, he's kind of staying illegally here. He's a nice boy, but he has tons of problems and we just couldn't leave him on the street D:
He has a girlfriend and she is the sweetest thing. Her name is Gabi and she plays an interesting part in the story.

Today when the two of us were having a little walk around the park, we somehow started the topic about paranormal things like aliens and ghosts. She said she couldn't sleep well when she stays at our place (since she sometimes comes and stays over to spend more time with Phan, her bf). She said that sometimes she sees things... like ghosts. She said she saw a dog in our house the other day. I was rather freaked out by this but we kept switching topics and we didn't talk much about this anymore.

When I came home I told what Gabi told me to one of the other girls and she stared at me for a sec, then she told me yesterday when she was in bed, she felt like something was pushing down the end of the bed a bit under her feet. Like as if something was sitting there. She thought it was our other co-tenant, since they share the same bed. But when she turned the light on, there was nothing there and Kami was actually far on the other side of the bed, so it couldn't be her..
I went to the kitchen and I got a newsflash...
A few months back, just a bit after we settled in, the landlady was visiting us, while we were having a repair on a wardrobe. We were sitting in the kitchen, talking about stuff, when we started talking about pets. She told me about the times when they were still living in this apartment and she had a dog that got some sort of bone problem and it just stopped walking, so they had to put it to sleep...

so... yeah.
and a cookie for everyone that had the patience to read all this..

Oooh, Rabbit-chan, this was so interesting to read! I do believe in ghosts actually, so I like to hear ghost stories. 8D

Don't be afraid though to live in your apartment. If something truly is there, such as a dog, it probably just wants to be your friend...as silly as that may sound. ^^; At my older house, I always thought it was haunted and so my Mama told me that if something was in our house, it was probably watching over us and keeping us safe and sound.

So...anyway, don't be afraid Rabbit-chan. Also, sometimes our imaginations get the best of us too, especially at night. Don't be thinking of Paranormal Activity. XD

(Thank you for the cookie too btw! It's chocolate chip...right? :3)

I, also, believe in ghost stories and monsters. Everything supernatural, pretty much. I thought my old house used to be haunted because it always just seemed so weird and cold.

An old guy used to live in my neighborhood, but died of a heart attack. I never knew him, but everyone after him whose ever lived there has not stayed a week. Its pretty creepy and I know for a fact, that its still unoccupied, going for cheap, too, but no one will buy it.

I hope that dog is just a playful, happy spirt. I agree with hopeful, it probably wants a friend. It might get lonely. So, I hope your ghost doesn't cause you problems, maybe a bit of mischief, though :)

*noming cookie*

I do believe in ghosts, but not in aliens. Or maybe rather - I believe that somewhere in universe can be other planet where intelligent forms of life are living, but, if they are on the same progress level or lower, there is no way it would be able to contact us. And if they are more intelligent than us, why would they even want to get a contact with us?

I had a period in my life that I was really into ghosts' and vampires' things. Even now, I have fondness to the stories from those two topics.

My region is most popular because of previous witches' Sabbath on Łysa Góra (interesting thing, that other name of this summit is also Święty Krzyż, which literally means Saint Cross).
But there are also many haunted places. Many in spots where during second world war people were mass murdered.
Pff, there are rumours that my school, which was military base for German soldiers during war, is haunted by SS-General. Though I did not see anything that would prove this.

When I was little, I was really attached to my granpa. In the night then he died on heart attack, I was in my auntie's place in other city. I do not remember it, but my mother said me not so long time ago, that she waked that night because she heard me sleep talking and thought that I have a nightmare. It seemed like I was talking with someone. "Why are you leaving?", "Where are you going?", "When I see you again?" - not literally my words, but with same meaning. In the morning my mom and auntie received a call that my grandpa died in the hospital that night.
She said it was my grandpa's farewell with me.

I did not hear anything about dangerous ghosts of animals, unless it was cursed in its life or sacrificed for black magic / devil. But most of those stories have origins before nineteenth century ^^''

Ah~ People keep telling me that animal ghosts don't do harm and I'm not that scared anymore, but I really can't get it out of my mind at the moment ;u;
I keep wondering things like... if the dog really is here, where is it atm, is it watching us? Or sleeping? Or walking around... Do ghosts even sleep? I highly doubt that!

I have always loved ghost stories... I am just a bit scared, because of all the ghost horrors I have watched :T

Camelia-chan, your story about your grandpa is both sweet and sad at the same time ;u;
This reminds me that the night when my grandfather passed away, I had a dream that they were taking my tooth out. In my dreambooks this symbolizes death. :c
At a later time I dreamed of him again and had a talk with him. I had to take something from his old room which was in the basement and when I asked him through the basement window he told me to come down to him. When I told my mom this dream, she freaked out, because being called by a dead person also symbolizes death, but your own one. Of course, worrying about it was pointless, since he didn't call me, he replied to me that I may come down and take what I needed. I did consult a diviner though. She said he was just visiting to make sure I was okay.
It makes sense... I was his favourite grandchild ; ___ ;

I personally don't believe in ghost, spirits, and/or any other paranormal activity. And I've been in really, really spooky places.

Like that day I was hiking with some friends and we found an abandoned hospital in the middle of nowhere and suddenly it started to rain with thunders and lightnings (We found out that was built during the spanish civil war to aid the sodiers fighting in that zone). Or several 'haunted' houses, abandoned towns (Like that one who used to be a leper colony or that other one who was almost completely abandoned when a nuclear bomb accidentally fell from an US plane to the sea nearby), cursed cementeries or forests and abandoned industry locations, including nuclear power plants, factories (one of them closed because of an accident and still with quite big blood splatters on the floor) and several other 'typical' paranormal locations all across the country.

Yes, they are spooky as hell (I finished liking it, too bad I didn't had a camera back then and I don't have the time or the money to explore that locations now. God, I really miss it), but I've not seen, heard or felt absolutely nothing that induced me to believe in ghosts, spirits, afterlife, gods, curses, witches or honest politicians.

About the aliens... Considering how insanely huge the universe is, I think that the fact that some intelligent living creature is out there is almost statistically true. But I agree with camelia, if I was an alien I'd also avoid mankind xD

I am to attend a 2 and 1/2 hour study help every day (except sunday) from today. Holidays counts too, and I distressed to hear that they will teach even on the Summer Holidays too. I went there this morning, and I had to say, they were the least inviting. I came a bit late from the scheduled time, and I couldn't understand a thing, because they continued without me before I came. That was my fault anyway, I woke up late.

The mother of my study help mocked me saying that I was spoilt by my mother and that's why I had come late. I feel the teacher glaring at me, if I ask, what seems to her, ridiculous questions, and I have a feeling that this won't end as my mother says it would.

The thing is, I had been planning to see my close friend this saturday, and I had been looking so forward to it, since she lives so far away. When I asked my mother about this matter, she glared at me and said, "How can you possibly cut study help?"

I can't go to my friend's house on sunday because she leaves to her grandparents' house. It's quite sad, thinking that I can't go to my grandparents' or to any place in the holidays. My mother is obstinate that I study Physics and Maths because she feels like since I'm in the crucial grade, I should study more. I wish I could just run away from this horrible place, where I have no one to depend upon or throw out my feelings to.

The only things 'my friends' talk about are the ways the heroine touched the hero in that TV show, and how beautiful that girl looked, and stuff. It's boring, and makes you go insane if you just stand among them even for 10 minutes.

Sorry if I rambled for so long. I just don't know what to do to make myself sane. Forgive me if I sound so selfish.

I hope your grandfather rests in peace, Camelia-chan, and he will be looking down smiling at you from heaven.

Indeed, I am sorry for your loss, but your baby will always be alive and among you, in your hearts and your dreams, Aizawa.

@Aizawa -I'm sorry to hear of your loss, but I hope he was saying hello :) He's probably hanging around and getting to know his parents, or maybe he's now your guardian angel. I like hoping for happy endings.

@Alice- That sucks about not seeing your friends. I never really had to go to study sessions over the summer because my school didn't offer them. It might've helped if they did. I hate having to put up with people just to fit in. I've had to do it, a lot. You have to put up a mask and find " so and so" interesting, when you really don't.

You always have shuu to come to and vent your frustrations. Most people on this site understand what's going on with life and school. So, don't let it get you down.

Today it went well than I imagined it would (other than the occasional flare ups at me for not folding me legs properly while sitting, 'like a lady' >.>) Seriously, I don't know what's wrong with that woman.

Thank you, Demon-san (Do you mind if I called you Velvet? Somehow by looking at your title, that name fits you :)) for taking time to read my ramble. I know, it sucks not seeing your friends, and I'll try to follow your advice, but it's hard. You feel like you don't belong here because none of them shares the same likes as you do. I come from a region where my 'friends' think 'animes' are cartoons. (Well, mostly it's because they only show Pokemon, Inazuma 11 and Naruto on TV, I'm the only one watching from anime sites)

They say I am childish because I watch 'cartoons'. I don't know what's wrong with them, watching Anime IS NEVER childish. Heck, some animes are so mature that I can't even watch them.

The other day I invited one of them over, and I showed them my APH wallpaper. I wanted to get her interested so I explained that was a show in which countries are personified. She looked bored, and when I showed her Hungary, she asked "Hungry? That girl is Hungry?" I don't know if that was sarcasm or real stupidity. When I asked her what her problem was, she said she didn't know there was a country named Taiwan or Seychelles or Hungary. She only knew Belgium and Ukraine.

See, the sad thing is not only the fact that they are interested in cheesy romantic cliches, and also they don’t know a THING about the world. D:

Again, I’m sorry I rambled x( It’s becoming a habit. And forgive me if I say this like I care about only myself.

And Aizawa, hope your twins will be healthy ones~!!! I wish you all the best~

Well, even if we really give anime recognition as cartoons, people keep forgetting that not all cartoons are intended to be children show. Like, first up, South Park and Powerpuff Girls - if you still do not get the difference between them... then I pity your future children.

I guess this is also because of the age (because I am assuming that your... acquaintance, if you cannot really call them friends are as old as you are, Alice).
So much I can say, this is the worst moment in adolescence period. Teenagers think that they are already 'adults', so they cannot do anything 'childish', but only those things what makes them 'mature' (like drinking, smoking, doing drugs, sex et caetera).
Of course, this depends on personality and upbringing. But for sure more and more teenagers do it... and it is not right.

Oh, It sound like I was at least middle age lady, when I am only few years older than you.
Even though, I strongly believe those few years are really making difference. Not in all fields, and not for everybody. However, change in behaviour and way of thinking can be be observed.

Also, I think rambling here is okay~
This is not good to keep your frustrations inside... what I do all the time.

if you want to prove to someone that anime isn't only children oriented, best thing to do is show them something extremely different from a child's cartoon. like horror anime or hentai =_=
it's stupid, but in most cases it convinces people.
and anyway, i wouldn't want someone as a friend if they can't accept me for who i am. i am allowed to like whatever i want and if they truly want to call themselves my friends, they should accept me. if not - to the left!
a lot of people have reacted the same way towards me as they do to you - they stare at me as if i am 10. i explain to them that anime is more than what it seems and just stop there. i do not force my interests and thoughts upon them, unless they show some curiosity towards it.

this reminds me, if they are so obsessed over romance, why not show them a romance anime that they might like?

also, about your study problems, i really don't know what to tell you about it or how to help you, i too have never received study help, even though there were times i really needed it ; _ ;
i guess the best you can do is just go with it *sigh*
it really sucks that you can't see your friend though :////
i hope things get better soon and that you manage to get another chance to see your friend. *snuggles*

Of course you can call me Velvet :) I know how you're feeling I had to put up with a lot of that, too. Even to this day, my parents thinks its porn and cartoonish :P Romance animes are fine to watch, but I can't stand live action romances, it makes me twitch and think how cheesy it is. So, maybe take Rabbit's advice and pick out a good romance/comdey anime.

I don't watch much romance, but one that got to me was 'Rumbling Hearts'. I own it on DVD and it made me actually connect with the characters. There's not really any comedy in that, but its more tradegy/romance. I know the Romeo and Juliet anime is pretty good. Hope it helps :)

I have no idea, it might be since there are different girls he could probably pick, but its not a PWP. I think there's a few naked scenes, though. So, maybe pick Romeo and Juliet for a safer choice to introduce people to anime.

@ Camelia - I have enough common sense to not watch Family Guy or Simpsons when they show it on TV. I was talking of the majority of the cartoons, which are aired for children. But they don't know the difference between which are and are not for children. They are in the policy "If it's animated, then that's for children."

They don't do drugs, or anything like that, they spend their free time gossiping. They think the more "mature" they look, the more people will admire them. And don't let me get started on their gigantic egos and complexes.

And don't worry, you don't speak like an old lady at all :) You actually know what's good for each other. Thanks for showing your concern.

Don't keep your frustrations inside either, we'll talk it out. You'll feel very much better then, and that's what happened to me, when you said your concern. :)

@Rabbit - Romance Anime? They hate anything that is not 'acting' by 'real' people (Ooh, I'd give a nice example that they like, Twilight!) Hmm, yet I'll give it a try. But the only thing that comes into my head while thinking of romance is Sailor Moon and Kannazuki no Miko. O.o I'm not sure if they'd like those.

Horror anime?*sly look* Higurashi? Last time I saw it with my cousin, she screamed after seeing a nightmare with Rena holding a bloody knife to kill her. After that, my parents banned me from seeing anime for a week >.>

It's alright anyway about the study help. I'll learn to live with it. And there are times you wish you'd rather have it stopped. There'll be tests every day when your exams are approaching. And I'm very sorry, I feel like I'm being ungrateful when some of you wish to have study help.

*snuggles with you*

@Velvet - Hmm, Rumbling hearts? I'll give it a try! ^^

ne ne~

You guys are all very helpful. Thanks a billion for this, and I'm glad to know that I have some true friends who can help me out in the time of distress and depression. ^^
