i'm not sure if i have asked before, but what is the maximum filesize allowed for banners?
i want to try and make an animated banner ;u;

There is no real limit, however if I feel its too big, I will not add it as it will impact negatively on the site's performance (not to mention the bandwidth).
Just for reference your average page (with 15 images shown per page on list view) loads about 500 - 600kb, with the banner as the biggest load (around 300kb). Depending on what kind of animation you want to do, you may want to use a split type banner. Just check the e-shuushuu wiki for information on the dimensions of split banners.
What program will you be using to make it? photoshop? imageready?

maybe i can do it a full sized banner and then just split it, to have both versions just in case; x3
When animating, I'm only good with Animation shop, but the quality there is just horrible after saving, sooo Photoshop CS3
