What do you think of Post Count not enabled on ImageBoard?

Post by onomeister »

There's probably gonna be a few people that will be a little disappointed, but I think it's good and bad.
It will definitely cut down the unnecessary posts that's made on the board, and it will push more of us to post in the Forums instead (for those that would like to have a Post Count recorded and displayed).
It's g*dd@mn cold here in Canada....!

If I understand him, he says that the post count (it displays under your avatar) may push some people into making unnecessary posts, so hiding it could be a good thing.

I think it's false, the post count isn't displayed directly on the imageboard (ok, it's in the profile, but who checks that ?) but still, there are a lot of unnecessary posts. So... :lol:

I don't really have a problem with post count being disabled. I never really had anything with post counts anyway.

feel disappointed? why on earth would anyone feel disappointed unless they think that having a high post count is like some sorta trophy to throw under their belt . .?? hmm . . post ego? Or maybe the classic . .your opinion doesn't count cause my post count is higher than yours o therefore I am 1337!! ;)

I never really understood it that much but I guess some people think of it as some power thing. It's a good thing to not really have it. Although I have been to some forums where the post count gets messed up and then there are topics of outrage cause their post count isn't right -_-;;;;;

well maybe the code was updated through a cvs or something or they had problems with it and some defaults have been reset.
