Basic Information
Vocaloid is a vocal-synthesizing software that enables song writers to generate singing on their computer by typing in the lyrics and music notes of the composition. Simply put, it allows a person to sing a song through the computer.
The program is best known for its mascots, multiple characters in both male and female form. There are two versions of Vocaloid, an earlier and a later. Each Japanese Vocaloid is given an anime-type character with specifications on age, height, weight, and musical forte. The characters of the first three installments of the series (Miku, Rin, and Len) are created by illustrator KEI.
There is a manga based on the Vocaloid characters called Hatsune Mix, illustrated by KEI. There are also many fanmade doujinshi.
Tagging Information
- Black★Rock Shooter is NOT a part of VOCALOID and it is misunderstood that her original design is based on Hatsune Miku, despite Black★Rock Shooter being made famous by the music of Hatsune Miku.
